MKE salutes military with new USO Lounge

The dedicated service men and women have a new home away from home as MKE welcomes the new USO Lounge to Concourse D. A retreat for traveling military members and veterans, the lounge provides a comfortable place to watch TV, use the computer, read, relax and enjoy snacks and beverages. MKE is proud to serve its military community and honored by the positive reviews received on opening day. The lounge is accessible to traveling military with a valid boarding pass no matter what concourse they are flying out of.

Travel media just love alternative airports

Across the United States, “Travelers just love alternative airports” like MKE, according to a recent survey that has taken flight among the travel media. Budget Travel ’s Brad Tuttle reported on the survey, stating that “the alterna-airport experience is not only less stressful and (dare we say) happier, but cheaper as well.” MSNBC’s travel reporters concurred, covering the story in “Overhead Bin.” And in Ed Perkins’ recent Chicago Tribune article, the travel columnist advises readers to “Check alternative airports…just click on that ‘search alternative airports’ box -- it costs you nothing -- and you can sometimes knock your air travel bill down significantly.”

MKE firefighters climb for fallen 9/11 heroes

On the 10-year anniversary of 9/11, more than 170 firefighters from around the state, including Mitchell Airport firefighters, participated in an honorary 110-story climb to raise money for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The 9/11 climb is a nationwide event to remember the 343 firefighters who lost their lives that day. View photos from the Greenfield Patch of MKE Airport firefighters participating in the climb.

What’s brewing in MKE? Travel Industry TODAY pours it on

Cheers to David Tait from Travel Industry TODAY for an amazing review of MKE, following a few “Whoa Betsy” moments at the airport involving a ping-pong table, an out-of-print copy of “SkyGods” and MKE’s “excruciatingly polite” TSA agents. Read why Milwaukee is all the buzz!
